The story — est. at some point
We lost the mould.Found it in the sofa.
Sloffa started on a Tuesday, or possibly a Wednesday. Someone sat down on a very good sofa and said, out loud, "I wish my shoes felt like this." Then they had a nap, which is still the most productive thing the company has done.
The first Lounger was drawn on the back of a takeaway menu. It had no laces, because laces needed a second drawing. It had a quilted upper, because the sofa did. That was most of the design meeting.
We made a mould, cast a sole, and immediately lost the mould. Weeks later it turned up between the cushions, next to a coin, some crumbs and a hair tie. It's fine. It was having a sit.
So we don't do drops. We don't count down. We make as many as people want, in whatever colour, whenever we get round to it. If that sounds unambitious, good. Sit down.
